Our Rules

Anyone entering Killarney Polo Club agrees to the following rules:

SubjectRule
HelmetsCurrently NSWPA approved riding Helmets must be worn and properly secured by all riders.
HorsesHorses must be under control at all times.
DogsDogs must be on a leash and restrained at all times and not left unattended.
SpectatorsPolo involves horses travelling at speed. Spectators must not go onto the field or within 10 metres of the sideline while a game is in progress.
 
To avoid injury from a polo ball being hit over the sideline, spectators are asked to keep an eye on the game when play is in progress.
Parents or Guardians of childrenParents or guardians must monitor their children at all times and make sure they do not go onto the field, or within 10 metres of the sideline while a game is in progress.
PlayersOnly registered players may take part in NSWPA sanctioned events.
External GatesExternal gates are to be kept closed at all times.
VehiclesMaximum speed limit is 20 kmh anywhere on the property.
 
No vehicles may be parked within 10 metres of the sidelines of the polo field.
 
No vehicles may be parked behind the goal lines at each end of the field.
 
Vehicles are not to be driven or parked on the set track unless otherwise indicated.
LitterAny litter is to be placed in the rubbish bins provided or taken off the property.
Good BehaviourPoor behavior or disrespect towards other people or animals will not be tolerated and offenders will be asked to leave the property.
EwheelsEwheels must not be ridden on the property during tournaments or chukkas from 30 minutes before the first game and 30 minutes after the last game. Helmets must be worn at all times.

Rules for Owners, Tenants, Grooming Staff, Polo Commercial Operators and Their Clients

Killarney Polo Club a not-for-profit, private owners club run for the enjoyment of owners polo. 

To enable this objective, we work with ‘Polo Associates’ such as polo professionals, commercial operators, tenants and grooms. Access to facilities on the property is dependent upon on the Polo Associate classification.

Subject to the field not being booked for NSWPA sanctioned tournaments:

* Stick & Ball (S&B) and Chukkas

If a Polo Associate can invite guests for S&B and Chukkas, the Associate can invite as many guests as they like to maximize their enjoyment of polo. However, guest invitations should not be excessive and be a detraction from people joining Windsor Polo Club.

**Owners can occasionally arrange private practice games however these should not be excessive or at the detriment of other owners.

Rules for all Polo Associates

SubjectRule
Parking Trucks, trailers and floatsNo vehicles including trucks, trailers or floats are to be parked on common property but should be parked in the truck and float parking area as shown on the property map.

First preference is given to Owners for the Truck & Float Parking area.
Horse ExercisingHorses may only be exercised on the Set-Track (see Map).
 
Schooling is to be conducted on the ‘Postage Stamp’ (see Map).
PlotsHorses
 
Individual plots are only for the stabling, training and agistment of polo ponies.
 
Horses must be provided with sufficient shade & shelter, clean drinking water and grown forage or delivered by persons at regular intervals throughout the day.


Tidiness

Each plot must at all times be kept tidy, free from rubbish and general waste and wherever possible items to be stored in barns.

Top yards are to be cleaned of poo each day. This can be done by picking or harrowing, however must be done neatly and is subject to change depending on circumstances or weather.

Poo pits must be emptied at a minimum each season or if overflowing.

Horse rugs that are hung on fences should be done sparingly and arrange neatly.

Building structures, vehicles or other items on plots must be kept clear of grass or weed over-growth.

 
Fences and Gates

Gates must be kept shut at all times when not in use.
 
Fences and gates must be kept in good working order and well presented.


Building Structures

All structures (including barns, poo-pits, horse shelters) must receive prior approval from Killarney.
 
‘Poo-pits’ must be installed at each top yard.
Polo FieldThe polo field is to be used only for Stick & Ball (S&B), chukkas and games.
 
When the polo field is closed, no riding can take place on the field.
Flood EvacuationAll associates must have a flood evacuation plan for horses, being how horses will be evacuated and where in the case of potential flooding.

I, …………………………………………………………… shall fully indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Yarramin from any and all lawsuits, claims, demands, liability, causes of action, loss, injury, and/or damage of any kind whatsoever (including without limitation all claims for property damage, monetary loss, personal injury, wrongful death, and/or equitable relief), whether brought by an individual or other entity, or imposed by a court of law or by administrative action of any federal, state, or local government body or agency, arising out of, in any whatsoever, any ommissions, acts, negligence, or willful misconduct on the part of Yarramin, its officers, personnel, owners, agents, employees, volunteers, invitees or contractors.

This indemnification applies to and includes, without limitation, the payment of all fines, penalties, awards, judgments, decrees, attorneys fees and related cost or expenses, and any reimbursements to Yarramin for all legal expenses, fees, and costs incurred.

It is also acknowledged that breaches of these terms may attract a fine of $500, payable to Yarramin.
